Interview with Summerana Resident Instructor Sara Hunt

Introducing Sara Hunt inside the Summerana Membership! We are lucky to have her as a resident instructor at Summerana, and we also got to sit her down for an interview.

Sara Hunt is a photographer based out of Houston, TX and has been photographing families, children, expecting mothers and newborns for close to 8 years. She loves creating art for her clients and enjoys sharing her knowledge of photography with other passionate photographers! Here are some questions we asked:

If we asked your family, who are YOU, what would they say?
A loving mother and wife and a major workaholic!

What was your first year as a professional photographer like?
BUSY!! I worked Full time at a cancer hospital and then did photography on the weekends. I finally decided to quit my full time hospital job and strictly focus on my Photography business.

How would you describe your photography style?
Colorful, magical (because I love creating magic within my images), and bokehlicious (because I LOVE bokeh in my images)!

What are some techniques that members should look forward to learning from your resident instructor tutorials?
In my editing tutorials I teach how to edit primarily with hand editing techniques and also how to bring life to a dull image and make it pop!

If you had unlimited funds and you could go anywhere in the world, what would your dream photoshoot look like?
I would absolutely love to photograph all over Europe!

What is the most important thing you’ve learned as a photographer?
The most important thing I’ve learned is you can never stop learning and growing within your photography career. No matter how much experience you may have, there will always be room to grow and improve in your craft…which makes photography so fun!

If you could have dinner with 1 person (dead or alive) that made an impact on the photography industry, who would it be?
Maybe Anne Geddes.

What inspires you to create?
My children, colors, places…there is inspiration everywhere!
